H & H Straw Bale House
This rambling, environmentally correct, home indulges its owners in their various activities. The entry courtyard and greenhouse on the south side of the house create ideal growing environments providing relief from the aridity of the high desert climate yet radiating heat into the rest of the house when outdoor temperatures are cool.
Sitting by the kiva fireplace in the living room or out on the screened porch adjacent to the dining room, one relishes the view of Taos Mountain. The sizable kitchen features a large island with stools that enjoy a tall clerestory space bringing light into the center of the great room. A breakfast nook has a long western view. Arches frame hallways lined with books. A portale off of the master bedroom and another courtyard on the west define relaxing spaces from which to delight in the sunset.
